Guatemala and Language Immersion

August 02, 2018

I honestly cannot bring children here to Mexico to learn Spanish (or another Spanish speaking country) until I am fluent myself for my BeAForeigner Inc. nonprofit. I’m about 50% there on fluency. I will be back in Mexico in a few months after doing a homestay in Guatemala and fully immersing myself in the language. I will do nothing but study and practice my Spanish while there. You can follow my journey with my podcast and of course right here on my personal blog.

Without a plan, Elyse Y. Robinson moved to México City after her mother passed away from blood cancer on November 11, 2016. She never heard of México City nor even visited México before. She just knew she had to escape America to mourn. She had quit her whole life to help her family anyway. She had nothing more to lose. She is going into her fourth year in México and she is there to stay!
